Proposition 3: Marriage Made in Heaven

Eleven pages with an abstract and train of thoughts, under a running heading that states its first claim: Vedic woman was more spiritual than man. *It is the fullest treatment in this section of what the doctrine says about women*, and it is more interesting than the title suggests.

The historical claim comes first: Vedic woman was deemed higher and more spiritual than man, and enjoyed the same rights — which is offered as evidence that the later position of women in India was a decline rather than an original condition. From it follows a practical consequence stated without qualification: women-adepts can produce High Occultists. The second half explains the title. Celibate occultists, it says, have always been courting Sophia, because they can only ascend to heaven through the love of Divine Wisdom, the Virgin of the World — so the celibacy is not a renunciation of marriage but a transfer of it, and the marriage made in heaven is with wisdom herself. The formula that supports this is one that runs through the whole library: Logos is passive Wisdom in heaven and conscious, self-active Wisdom on earth. The file closes on a vision that a reader should be warned is genuinely strange, and it is put as a contemplation rather than a doctrine: a glorified humanity in which earth should be like heaven, where there should be no marrying or giving in marriage, and the population of the world should diminish until the last survivor is merged in the Boundless All.
