Proposition 1: Dawn of Chaos-Theos-Kosmos (Drawing)
Carl Taylor-Robinson · Secret Doctrine's First Proposition Series · 1 page
*A single diagram sheet*, drawn by Carl Taylor-Robinson and dated 31 July 2017, made to accompany "Proposition 1 - The Rope of the Angels". It is reproduced inside several of the studies in this series, but is held here as its own file so it can be opened on its own or printed.
The sheet is laid out as a large pale circle on a faintly patterned ground, divided by a horizontal line across its widest point, with headings running vertically down the left margin. The upper half is labelled Chaos–Theos–Kosmos in Pralaya and Unity of First Logos and Hidden Deity, and the marginal note beside it names the Father who is in Secret of Matthew, the uncreated Pythagorean Monad, a radiation of Parabrahman, and Horus the Elder. Inside the upper half, point 1 carries the First Cause and Maha-Buddhi or Mahat, the absolutely subjective matrix of the universe, one homogeneous and divine Substance-Principle; beneath the dividing line the same region is labelled Mulaprakriti in Vedanta or Svabhava in Buddhism, Aditi in the Rig-Veda, the First Sephirah in the Kabbalah, the Eternal Egg and Noumenon of Matter — which, the sheet says, never differentiates but only radiates — and Gaia, the third Greek letter. The lower half is headed First Triangle in the Manifested World and Dawn of Chaos–Theos–Kosmos, with the marginal note naming the Father in Heaven of the Churches, a reflection of the Monad in the universe of illusion, and Horus the Younger. Two points numbered 2 sit on the left and right of the lower half, one labelled Mother and First Duad, Chaos or Femina Spirit, unfilled by Aether-Spirit or Man, or Matter of Evil, and the other Mother, Husband and Son, Serpent or Ophis, with the apex or Origin of Spirit or Good. Point 3 at the base carries the Mundane Egg emanating but not differentiating as Kosmic Matter, the Trinity of Nature on the Noumenal Plane, the Lock of Magic, the first line and Laya-Centre described as the eighth Greek letter or Theta, and Space-Motion-Duration or Kosmos, Three-in-One, Father-Mother-Son, the fourth Greek letter. The whole figure is a single triangle read downward from unity into manifestation.
