It belongs to the same occasional series of made objects as the Theosophical Jewels pieces in Living the Life.

The photograph shows a strand of beads laid in a wide arch against a soft grey-blue ground, open at the bottom like a horseshoe — the same shape the seven globes take in Drawing 2 of this series, which is evidently the point. The beads are graded and no two are alike. At the crown of the arch sits a large plain white sphere; on either side of it a dark iridescent bead, then an amber one to the left and a deep red one to the right; further down, blue-black beads, then a mottled blue-and-white bead on the left and a solid deep blue on the right; and at each end, largest of all, a clear faceted crystal on the left and a pale opalescent white on the right. Both ends finish in a silver angel's wing hanging downward. What makes it a diagram rather than an ornament is that arrangement: seven principal beads rising and falling through the arch, distinguished by colour and material rather than repeated, with the two wings marking the descent into matter at one end and the return at the other. Because there is no text in the file at all, this page describes the object as it appears, so that a reader knows what he is downloading.
