Christmas Message to Fellow Companions

A thirteen-page message addressed to fellow companions preparing to tread the path towards the Masters of Wisdom, arranged in seven numbered stages with an appendix on the threshold of the two paths and a closing list of further reading. It is the most recently revised file in this batch, its version line dated Winter Solstice 2025.

The seven stages are set out as a progression rather than a list of virtues. The first is theoretical knowledge, described as the preparatory stage. The second is unswerving devotion to the Masters, called the path to untitled nobility. The third is the resolve to work in silence and dutiful assiduity, the probationary stage. The fourth, named the midway point, is the ennobling of daily life and character by overcoming impatience and crushing what the text calls the devil of irritability — with the observation that the silent worship of abstract or noumenal nature is the one ennobling religion of humanity, underlying all creeds. The fifth holds that noble work leads to noble experience: as self is sacrificed to Self, bliss becomes something to share, and as the heart is emptied of vain and idle thoughts, nature fills it with poetry and tenderness. The sixth is stated in a single line — that the disciple does the bidding of Him to whom he owes all. The seventh describes the change in every relation that follows: humanity becomes his friend, the world his home, the Masters his parents, the co-disciples his brothers and the struggling souls his children. A parting thought adds that wishes formed by a noble heart between Christmas and Easter will be fulfilled consistently and with enlightened purpose.
