Aryan Music and the Harmony of the Spheres

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, A Master of Wisdom · Down to Earth Series · 10 pages

A short file built around a passage from a private letter of a Master of Wisdom, quoted in The Secret Doctrine I. The counsel is conditional and is given first: when you have studied the Music of the Spheres thoroughly, then only may you share your knowledge with those with whom it is safe to do so. What follows is the promise attached to it — that wisdom will come naturally when one is able to attune one's consciousness to any of the seven chords of Universal Consciousness, those chords running along the sounding board of Kosmos and vibrating from one Eternity to another.

The historical claim the file takes its title from is that an Aryan geometer was the first author of trigonometry, and that trigonometry is the Harmony of the Spheres — the mathematics and the music being one subject rather than an analogy between two. The Music of the Spheres is then identified with the Voice of the Soundless Sound, which places this short piece alongside the studies of Vach and the Logos in Constitution of Man rather than among the musical papers. It is one of the more compressed files in the section, most of its ten pages being the suggested reading that follows.
