The most literal of the five plates, and the one that needs least explaining. A single arc of large white pearls curves across the frame, each separated from the next by a small bright pink bead, and the arc is closed at either end by an ornate silver cap set with a jewelled stone — one blue, one green and violet. Nothing else is in the picture.

The caption reads: The Sutratman of the Upanishads: transient personalities strung successively on a ray of Spiritual Monas. The plate is therefore the exact illustration of the doctrine set out in the prose file of the same name in this batch, where the true individuality is described as a thread around which a long series of transient personalities are strung together like pearls — and of the passage in Post-mortem wanderings of the wicked soul calling the immortal Ego the string on which the ephemeral personalities of man are threaded one after another. Reading the two files together is the intended use. The section list offers the plate both as a PDF and as a JPEG.
