Theosophical Jewels: The Love of Gods

Philaletheians UK · Buddhas and Initiates Series · 1 page

The second of the two photographic plates issued under the heading Theosophical Jewels. A ring of beads is photographed against the same soft ground as its companion, but the arrangement is different: the beads are varied rather than graded — black onyx and moonstone at the top, gold-flecked and enamelled beads, lapis and sodalite down one side, coral and cloisonné hearts along the bottom — and at the centre of the circle sits a round pavé medallion holding a blue and white eye.

The caption reads: The Love of Gods, an offering to the Master within, which is what makes the eye at the centre the subject of the plate rather than an ornament in it — the Master within being the higher Self of the studies alongside it, and the encircling beads the offering made to it. As with The Aura of Sugata, this is a picture rather than a text, and the section list offers it both as a PDF and as a JPEG.
