Theosophical Jewels: The Aura of Sugata

Philaletheians UK · Buddhas and Initiates Series · 1 page

A single-page photographic plate, one of two in this section under the heading Theosophical Jewels. It shows a ring of polished gemstone beads photographed against a soft grey-green ground, the colours running the full sequence of the spectrum around the circle — violet and lavender through indigo and deep blue, then turquoise, green, pale yellow, amber, orange, red and magenta — closing at the top with a millefiori bead of many colours at once and a faceted deep blue drop in a silver setting.

The caption reads: The Aura of Sugata, our Merciful Lord and Master. Sugata, the Well-Gone, is one of the traditional epithets of the Buddha, and the plate is a visual companion to the studies of the aura and of the seven principles elsewhere in this section — the graded circle of colours standing for the sequence those texts describe. It is a picture rather than a text, and is offered here both as a PDF and, from the section list, as a JPEG.
