Drawing 5: The Secret Heart Seal
Philaletheians UK · Buddhas and Initiates Series · 1 page
The last of the five Drawings, and the only one that is an emblem rather than a diagram or a figure. It closes the sequence that begins with the map of the planes in Drawing 1 and runs through the crucifixion of the Higher Manas and the two states of the neophyte.
Its caption is the shortest and the least technical of the five: an emblem of the self-sacrifice of the Pure and Mighty, in whose heart the nightingale of hope always sings. That places it with the Heart Doctrine strand of the library rather than with the anthropogenesis material — the same territory as Compassion, the Spirit of Truth among the Major Works — and it is the image the series uses when it wants to say that the end of the whole process is not knowledge but sacrifice. Presented April 2017, and offered as a PDF for printing and a JPG for screen.
