Lamas and Druses, Descendants of the Elect Race

The subject here is continuity of transmission rather than of blood — which line of initiates, if any, still carries the archaic teaching. Blavatsky locates the cradle of the true Race, meaning specifically initiated humanity, around the plateau of the Pamirs: those who first tasted the fruit of knowledge, and whose descendants are found in Tibet, Mongolia, Tartary, China and India, where the souls of their pious and initiated brethren are said to transmigrate and become again sons of God.

Two groups carry the argument. The initiated Lamas are described as giants in whom the Spirit of Fo — highest wisdom — moved incessantly, passing from one to another. The modern Druses are presented as among the last survivors of the Archaic Wisdom-Religion, a claim that places a living Levantine community in direct line from the material the rest of the series treats as prehistoric. Whatever one makes of it, the piece is a useful illustration of how the Atlantean Realities material moves: from continents and root-races to particular peoples still identifiable on a map.
